Oh my. My cup runneth over.
I would be remiss if I didn’t follow up my last post with an update, and I’ve delayed this for too long.
Within hours of posting the last blog it had been viewed by over 2000 people, shared on Facebook over 90 times, and I received more nice comments than I could process. While I appreciate the comments directed my way, this reaction only reiterates the point I made in the blog. Bellville, and other small communities across the country are tight-knit, supportive places, where people take pride in their home-town. I received comments not only from those who still live in town, but many who had moved out expressing how much they identified with Steve’s thoughts about Bellville always being his home. I also got comments from folks who have moved to the Valley from outside and made themselves at home in much the same way Jan and Jerry did: Mindy, I’m talking to you. People who aggressively assimilate like Jan, Jerry, and now Mindy are an inspiration and a model for all of us to follow.
So, thank you, Clear Fork. Thank you for the support you gave Steve growing up, and continue to give all of us. That love was on full display this last week. Stand by, next week I’m going to announce a way that we are going to pay a very small part back. Please share/comment on this post, like our Facebook and/or Instagram page, and we will do some good together!
Also, if you went straight to this page, you may have missed the fact that we (Steve) redesigned the website. Please take a minute to look around, sign up for our email list (we almost never use it), and let us know if you find any mistakes…we are really asking for your help!
