Three years of waiting. Wow. As we meet more and more families I am often struck by the faith they have. While this isn’t unique to adoption, I see it so often in this community. The faith required to go through this sometimes convoluted process relying on so many others to complete your family is inspiring. This month’s family is just that – inspiring. Waiting for three years with faith that things will work out takes a special couple and I know you’ll love the Holts just as much as I do. So…here they are in their own words!
We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary in March! We have been in the “waiting” phase of adoption for about 3 years now. We have struggled many years with infertility. After several rounds of fertility treatments and several miscarriages, we were left with heartache and loss. It was often hard to keep hoping. Through our suffering, we gained more compassion and love for each other and for others. We learned to be grateful under any circumstance. Through we aren’t going to lie, this can be super hard at times. During this time we prayed a lot and know that God was leading us to adoption . One thing we have learned is that sometimes our plans don’t match Gods plans.
Rob works for W.W. Clyde as a Forman. So basically he gets to play with big trucks all day. Every boys dream job. 🙂 He is currently going to school at UVU to finish his bachelors degree in Technology Management. When Rob has free time he enjoys working on “fun” cars, being outside, camping, fishing, UTV riding, smoking..meat. Rob also really enjoys going to car shows and talking to all the car owners/car builders.
Sarah works for Cascade Family Dental. She only has to work three days a week! On her days off she enjoys getting things done around the house. She loves being outside working beside Rob. She loves playing in her flower beds where she channels her inner “old lady”. This is a place that she loved spending with her mom and grandma. It brings back memories of her childhood. She also enjoys most of the same outdoor activities that Rob does! Other than fishing.. she usually brings a good book on those trips. Also, one of her favorite things.. books!
This is just a glimpse of who we are! Thanks for being with us on our journey!
Kathleen again…now you know the Holt’s a little better, here’s why they chose their awesome bows! Click on the photo below to shop now!
1. Green/Summer camp – We love to going camping! Not only does this fabric remind us of the night sky, but it’s called “summer camp”!
2. Painted gingham in Meadow – Rob and I grew up in small towns (much bigger now) and we love our home towns! This fabric reminded us of the small and simple days of playing in ditches and laying on one of the gingham blankets that somehow everyone had.
3. Wine time – We are big fans of Dr. Pepper in our house! This color reminds us to take it slow and drink more DP! It also reminds us of Christmas. The lights that twinkle and give that glow to the magic of what Christmas is.
