We are the Smith Family! (Greg, Maddie & our daughter Harper.) Greg and I have been married for a little over three years now and have had quite the journey ever since. The Lord has taught us to trust in Him, in His timing, and in His perfect plan. As I mentioned, we do have a daughter, Harper. She will be two in May and brings us so much joy. And along with Harper, we have three other precious babies who are now at the side of our Heavenly Father.

Nothing can prepare you for the loss of a child, even having gone through that trial multiple times previously. If anything, it only gets harder. But, with the Lord at our side we have been able to grow, and trust in His plan for us. Which has led us here. Adoption has always been on my heart, but for Greg it was a newer concept. After our third miscarriage, I felt such a strong pull that adoption was the direction God was leading us to grow our family. Greg and I talked about the possibility but weren’t one hundred percent sure. More so, we were holding on to the desire of trying to have more biological children.

We were also going through the process of genetic testing, trying to figure out if there was a clear reason for multiple miscarriages (which all came back negative). After that process, we decided to meet and speak with other adoptive families and get as much information about adoption and the process as we could. After those conversations it was as if things just clicked.  We felt so encouraged and excited about growing our family through adoption. We prayed, a lot. And through those conversations and prayers, we knew God was calling us to adopt. From there we got into contact with Christian Adoption Consultants and have started working with a consultant there, and have begun presenting our profile to expectant mamas. We have so much excitement as we continue taking steps forward, each getting us a little bit closer to bringing home another sweet baby, and a sibling for Harper.

It’s been hard going through the trials we have, but we know and trust that the Lord is on our side. That he is guiding each of our steps every day to lead us exactly where he wants us to be. And we look forward to seeing where he takes us and how he grows us throughout this journey in adopting. We are so thankful for the support and encouragement we have received from our family and friends already. And now we pray for patience, as we await the day that we get to hold our next precious child in our arms.
