Hi, we’re Chaz and Megan Linn! We’ve been married for five years and currently live in Atlanta, GA. When we’re not filling out adoption paperwork, you can find us in the backyard having a bonfire, playing with our dog Sammy, or grabbing dinner with friends. Our happy place is at the beach and we can’t wait to play in the sand with our future son or daughter.
Megan has always had a heart for adoption ever since she was a little girl. Chaz had always envisioned being a dad, but never considered adoption as a path to becoming a parent. But in the spring of 2017, our church held a series centered around the question, “What Breaks Your Heart?” For the first time, we started seriously discussing and praying through that question. For us, our answers varied slightly, but at the heart of it we knew that unprotected and under-privileged children absolutely break our hearts. So the question became, what do we do?
Along the way, we ran across this quote: “Adopting one child won’t change the world; but for that child, the world will change.”
*Lightbulb*
After a year of discussing and praying together, we felt the Holy Spirit join our hearts in the desire to adopt. We were nervous and excited to start this journey but knew that God’s plan is always bigger, and far greater than the one we had planned for ourselves; and we needed to simply trust Him and the process.
So we took the first step and started our international adoption from Colombia. The process has been hard. We have worked through all the standard stuff – paperwork, waiting, updates, the infamous psych evaluation that Colombia requires; but recently we faced the hard decision to change course and begin working with a new agency. We know that God has our adoption in His hands, and that He is not surprised by waiting, agency changes, and all other obstacles that pop up during this process. We continue to trust Him and the process, and cannot wait to meet the child He has already selected for our family.
Kathleen here – Wow! Amazing show of faith by the Linns, right? I look forward to seeing how this develops after the change in agency. In the mean time, look at these beautiful bows they selected!
