Hi, I am Mandy and this is my beautiful, amazing, happy, fun-loving daughter Skylar! We live in Alabama and are so thankful for Wanderlust and Mayhem in helping us on our journey to adopt Skylar’s biological sister! My journey to adopt actually began in 2018 where I rang in the NewYear singing and dancing with 100 orphans during a mission trip to Haiti. These children had experienced things in life that no child ever should, yet they were still so happy, joyful, and sweet. Seeing and experiencing a third world country first hand made me realize how blessed I was and how selfish I was being with the blessings God had given me.
After returning home, I knew I had to do something but just wasn’t sure what that something was. As I prayed through it, I felt God guiding my heart towards domestic adoption…and let me tell you, I thought he was crazy for asking me to be a single mom! Even so, I decided to take a leap of faith and start theadoption process in July of 2018. In April of 2019, I became Mom to my precious girl, Skylar Abrielle. I cannot fully express the absolute joy and happiness that Skylar has brought me and the love and lessons she has taught me because, honestly, these words will never do it justice.While I feel like the luckiest, most blessed person in the world that I have the honor to parent Skylar, not a day goes by that I do not think about and pray for her birth mom. My heart fromthe beginning has always been to make sure Skylar’s bBirth mMom knows she is so loved and will always be loved by us no matter what! Now, fast forward to March 2020 when I found out that Skylar’s birth mom was pregnant and that she wanted me to parent this child as well. I was shocked, excited and nervous, but I knew in my heart almost immediately what my answer would be. Although most would say I am crazy for taking on single mom life of two kids underthe age of 2, I know this is where God has guided me, and where I want to be. I have no idea what the future holds for me or my family, but we are trusting in God to provide, to give strength, and to walk with us through all the ups and downs this life brings. I am beyond excited to expand our Dynamic Duo into a Terrific Trio and see these two sisters grow up together! Thank you so much for supporting me and my family on our journey!
