This is a story that both breaks my heart and gives me so much inspiration at the same time. I hope that I too can be as strong as the Lindseys. Without further ado…the Lindseys.
My husband Kenny and I have been married since October 2014. Our marriage has been filled with adventures in traveling and has been met with its share of joy, challenges and adversity. Our faith in God has served as a compass to guide us through times of uncertainty, Kenny’s unemployment and my infertility.
In 2015, we became deeply interested in the idea of starting a family. Sadly, it was easier said than done. From 2015-2017, we faced unemployment where Kenny had to find a new career and re-invent himself. I also discovered I had stage 4 endometriosis. In 2016, I had a myomectomy performed to remove my severely, large fibroids. Doctors had never seen a case like mine before and were shocked that I was walking around in so much pain. Unfortunately by 2018, the fibroids returned, the endometriosis had completely destroyed my Fallopian tubes and ovaries. My doctor recommended I proceed with an emergency hysterectomy. Like any couple who dreamed of having biological children, this was a devastating outcome that also came with mourning.
Despite our faith being severely tested, we always knew that God has a plan for us all. While we thought we knew how we’d get to our destination, the reality is the journey wasn’t what we expected. I do not regret the pain or obstacles we had to endure that brought us where we are today. Our marriage and our faith have grown even stronger during this period of waiting and I’m thankful for that.
Currently, we are waiting to be matched again with an expectant mom. Unfortunately, 5 weeks ago we experienced a disrupted adoption. Our heart still aches for the daughter we thought would be ours, but I look forward to experiencing love and pure joy when the baby God has planned for us finally arrives! I can’t wait to give her/him a sense of security and love, watch them bond with their dad and see how their little personality develops!
Wow! Now that you have been moved to tears…check out the photo below and go buy some bows to help them out!
