We are so excited to welcome back Matt and Ashley. We know this is a sign that our help makes a small difference in the lives of these families. Welcome back Ashley and Matt!
Hey! Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know our family a little bit!
We’re Matt and Ashley and we live just south of Atlanta. We’re high school sweethearts (we started
dating in 2006) and graduated from college a year early just so we could get married…we’re coming up
on 10 years! We met in a coffee shop where Matt saw me talking to some of his friends. When I left he
asked them who I was and said he had to meet me. And so he did! We were 16 and 17 when we started
dating, fell in love immediately, and knew we would be married one day. After college we moved away
for a couple of years and then were thrilled to move back to Atlanta for Matt to start grad school. We
always knew we wanted to put our roots down close to our families, especially once we had a family of
our own.
A few years in to marriage we were ready to start a family. It became apparent very early on that it was
not going to be a straight and narrow journey for us. We endured a lot of loss and heartache throughout
our journey. Infertility, failed fertility treatments, and then a miraculous and unexpected twin pregnancy
that ended in stillbirth. One thing that always stirred our hearts and kept our hope alive during our
darkest times was discussing and praying about adoption. After 6 years, God blessed us immensely in
the summer of 2019 with our beautiful daughter (whom we gave the middle name Hope). We cannot
put into words how much joy she has brought to our lives!
Before becoming parents we spent most of our weekends traveling – we love exploring new places.
When we weren’t traveling we were with family and friends. Now all of that has become so much more
significant having our own child to share life with. We’re especially grateful that our families live so close
and that our children will have all of their great grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins
to grow up with. My sister, brother-in-law, and soon to be nephew are even our neighbors!
We always wanted our children to be close in age, so now here we are, praying for our second child to
complete our family (our daughter will be an amazing big sister)! We have walked one failed match
recently, but we have healed and learned that just wasn’t our baby. We are so excited to be working
with our agency again and are remaining hopeful that the Lord isn’t finished with our family yet! We are
so grateful to Wanderlust and Mayhem for featuring our family as we prepare for another adoption just
one year later!
The bows we chose remind us of our home. A home to us should be a cozy, warm, and inviting place
where all feel welcome. Home should be filled with family and the people you love. So in the spirit of
creating a cozy home full of love for our children, we chose pink because our daughter (and hopeful
soon-to-be big sister) has round, pink cheeks. Plus, every girl should have a classic pink bow! Gray is
Ashley’s favorite color to decorate our home in. Gray feels cozy and it’s everywhere in our house. We
chose the blossoms because the colors remind us of fall and that is our favorite season at our house.
And our daughter loves to smell and pick the flowers in our yard!
They did a great job picking these bows! Purchase to support them!
